Ayurveda is an over 3,000 year old science of life, focusing not only on healing but keeping your body in balance so you can realize your full potential. Ayurveda uses diet, herbs, lifestyle, meditation and pranayama (breathing practices) to bring the body and mind into balance. Long before modern science recognized the mind/body connection, Ayurveda developed a whole system around this connection!
There are two overarching principles of Ayurveda: 1) The mind and body are linked. 2) The mind has the capacity to heal the body and transform it. STRESS - we all have it, we all know it is unhealthy, we all know we should do something about it; but, when it comes to talking about detoxifying - we always assume that means physically (food, chemicals, drink, alcohol, caffeine, sugar, etc.). However, did you know that stress is one of the main causes of health issues - disease, illness, depression? Stress is a toxic substance and if you are looking to detoxify your life to help support a healthier you, managing stress is a HUGE issue to consider.
One of the most popular questions I get asked is how to sleep better. This is a really important question as more than 60 million Americans and approximately 150 million people worldwide suffer from some form of insomnia!
Insomnia, whether short term (like a night or two) or chronic (lasting more than three months and occurring throughout the week), can be debilitating.
