I have been thinking about the concept of self-care a lot lately - perhaps because I feel maybe I haven't embraced it like I should. I admit, I have been pushing myself harder than usual, putting my needs and wants near the bottom of the list. Strangely, I am a huge advocate for self-care and taking the time to refill your cup but I find myself digging a little deeper to define this concept to integrate it into my daily life and routines - helping bring balance to an otherwise crazy world.
You wake up, hit the snooze button, roll over and stumble out of bed. You hit the coffee button to start the brew while you hurriedly take a shower and get ready. Then you drink a few cups of "wake me up" coffee, throw down a pop tart and off you go.
Does this sound familiar at all? Does your morning seem rushed and like you are on autopilot? Does your morning routine support you or is it just another thing to get through? A healthy morning routine doesn't have to take tons of time or energy. What it does take is focus and mindfulness. Here are some additions to your morning routine that will bring your body and mind into a good place at the start of your day. |
