The Yamas of Patanjali's

 Yoga Sutras

A study through discussion, breath, meditation, & embodiment
Have you heard of the 8 limbs of yoga?  Are you curious to know more, to explore, to deepen your yoga and meditation practice?

Many of us as yoga students will know a lot about asana - the poses of yoga - but did you know that asana is not the first limb?
The first limb of yoga includes the Yamas & Niyamas - the basic tenets of living a yogic life.  There are five Yamas:  Ahimsa, Satya, Asteya, Brahmacharya, Aparigraha and these are the tenets related to how we interact with the world and others around us.

While reading the Yamas and studying them is a powerful way to incorporate them into your life, really connecting to these tenets should include embodiment.  Embodiment helps us integrate these beautiful concepts, connecting to them on a more physical level, expanding our understanding and application in all aspects of our lives.

Join me as we dive deeper into the Yamas through dharma chats, meditation, breath, Yin and mindful flow yoga practices.
