The mind and the body are intertwined in such a way that emotions affect physical health and vice versa. In this practice we look at 3 organ systems - Liver, Spleen and Heart - that control the flow of blood through our bodies. When one or all of them fail to function properly due to long term illness, stress, overwhelm, long-term anger, resentment and/or grief - illness and disease arise. This is often referred to in Traditional Chinese Medicine as blood stagnation. Many symptoms such as skin irritations, heart palpitations, digestive disorders, reproductive disorders and more can be traced back to imbalances in the Liver, Spleen and/or Heart. To bring these back into balance and release emotions that cause and/or result from these imbalances, we focus on these meridians - essentially moving the entire body. The Liver is related to anger, irritation, resentment - the Heart to grief, loss and sadness - and the Spleen is related to unreasonable worry, stress, overwhelm.
