Congratulations! You are experiencing a once in a lifetime experience and it will be filled with some amazing changes to your mind and body. This is a time of HUGE changes for you and connecting to your body and to your baby can be pivotal in helping you enjoy and experience these changes with an open and self care oriented perspective.
Today we are practicing a full body Yin Yoga practice that can be used for all three trimesters as well as postnatal. Because your body is filled with relaxin, a hormone that loosens and makes the joints more open, this is a time to pull back a bit on your practice depth and make use of props to support you in your practice. Rather than going as deep as you can, soften and explore the feelings in the poses with less depth and more breath and awareness. Use whatever props you have around you and enjoy the opening, the release, and the space inside the practice. We don't have any face down, back lying or twist poses in this practice as these are often contradicted in some stages of your pregnancy so feel free to use this at any stage!
